A library is the cornerstone of a healthy community, giving people the opportunity to find jobs, experience new ideas, conduct research and get lost in wonderful stories, while at the same time providing a place for gathering. Libraries are our communities’ lifeline to the world and all the information in it.

The mission of the Bloomfield Public Library is to change lives through the power of ideas, information, and imagination. Your gift to the Bloomfield Public Library Foundation will support that mission and help the Library realize its vision to:

The Library’s Next Chapter

From 2016-2018, the Bloomfield Public Library saw tremendous growth in registrations, circulation of materials, and program participation. These successes have reaffirmed the Library's standing in the community and raised awareness of its role as an invaluable resource to the Township. It is upon this strong base that, in January of 2019, the Library Board of Trustees unveiled a strategic plan serving as a blueprint to guide the library in its quest to provide exemplary services that enrich and improve the lives of the citizens of the Township of Bloomfield.

The Bloomfield Public Library's 2019-2020 Strategic Plan was built with an eye toward the future’s ever-evolving environment, driven by innovations in technology and shifting demographics in the community it serves. Just as the plan began guiding the Library Director, staff and Board of Trustees to respond to the anticipated growing needs and expectations of the Library's patrons, the COVID-19 pandemic broke out and, like so many libraries world-wide, ours was also faced with the task of making unprecedented, system-wide changes and coming up with innovative solutions so that they could continue to safely provide programming and services to the Township’s most venerable community members. The Library’s newly revised strategic plan is scheduled to be released in early 2023.
